Viewing Active Snapshots in a list

You will require VMware PowerCLi installated on your machine for this. It is a simple download.

1. Open the VMware vSphere PowerCLi from your start menu.

2. Type Connect-VIServer “vCenter-server-name”and press enter.

3. You are now connected to the vCenter server. Next you need to type the following command in.
Get-snapshot –vm (get-vm) | select vm, name, created, powerstate | export-csv C:\temp\snapshot_Query.csv
4. This process will take approximately 1-2 mins to perform and when complete you will end up back at another command prompt as shown below. The file is then located in the folder you ran the command from within. Normally this will be C:\temp\snapshot_Query.csv
